Kids Bible Maps

We were driving somewhere and Cozette wanted to know where certain animals lived. Hannah told her about lions living in Africa and Cozy didn't understand. So, we reminded her of Egypt in the Bible, and the story of Moses. She lit up all big and bright and exclaimed, "Egypt is in this world?" Guess that's what we get for spending too much time in Narnia. "Yes, Cozette, where Moses and Jesus lived are real places that you can go to."

Anyway, these are their Bible land maps. Starting from the top you can see (S)idon, (T)yre, (G)alilee, (N)azareth, and other areas in the south...and Ripley's would tell you these places exist.

Update on the Addition to our house. (Brad again)

We gave you an update on our addition to our HOME. A 4th child will be a wonderful blessing and that addition should be complete next summer. As to our HOUSE, that is coming along nicely and John William is doing a great job. Here is a picture of what we've done so far.

Oh, sorry, that's the cabin in Caneyville we're staining. I must have mixed them up in my head. You can see why. Anyway, here is the right picture.

We are contemplating Trimming the overhang in white, with white gutters, and what about posts and railing, and front door...Any suggestions?

Why I am from Louisville, and not KY. (Brad)

We are staining a cabin in Caneyville, KY. If you don't know where this is, it doesn't matter. You only need to know that they have one 4-way stop light and are at least 20 minutes from the nearest hicktown Dairy Freeze ice cream place. Just think cows. Well, we go to the local restaurant, Doc's coffee shop. Me, being the coffee addict that I am, and only having had 16 oz. that morning, was anxious to have a small town latte, or maybe mocha. Anything to keep the painting arm moving. I was to be disappointed that day, as Doc calls his place a coffee shop because he has, you guessed it, coffee. Free refills, mind you. But that's it, just coffee and everything else a NORMAL RESTAURANT would have. Yeah, thanks, Doc.
Well, the fun began as we came through the front door and got our first warning about kids behavior. 'First' warning because there were 3 or so of these signs in this place. And you don't forget it on your way to the bathroom as you see here.
Click on this photo (yes I took my camera into this coffee shop).

After they get the Caneyville Kids under controll, they can teach them how to spel. Also, notice the improper use of the apostrophe in parent's... and notice free refills under coffee. Oh yeah, I'm thinking "starbucks is goin' down..."
This next one is in the bathroom. I just happened to have the camera with me.

So, your guess is as good as mine.
Anyway, The next is just fun all around. I think it is from the 1st graders "Menu-on-a-wall" contest.

They picked this menu because they were so proud he could spell "Hot Ham & Gheese" almost right. Also, notice Doc's difficult decision on the price of the steak platter. Worse than gas prices.
This one is also fun. Notice the apostrophe used wrong. And boy, they really are concerned for the children.

One last photo then I'm done. Just wanted to help this guy out selling his karaoke machine, with a cassette player!! (not really sure what a cassette is) and a really good sound to it.

Hope this was fun for you. I feel better about myself now. That's what is important, right?

Thanks for our families

The entire Berthold family was able to gather this year!!

The is the way most of the time was spent! This game was a huge hit. Brad didn't even win every time (which made him want to play even more. :-)

Eating was also a main event.
